The Water Street district cooling facility is located in downtown Tampa, Florida to provide chilled water service to residential and commercial building customers such as: The Tampa Edition Hotel, Cora Residences, Heron Apartments, Publix, Thousand & One Residences, University of South Florida College of Medicine and Asher Residences. buildings, in lieu of them installing their own cooling equipment. DCO is the third part operator and maintainer of the plant.

  • DCO is responsible for asset management, operations and maintenance of the Water Street Plant in Tampa, Florida
  • The central chilled water plant consists of electric centrifugal chillers as well as an ice storage system.
  • The ice plant normally operates to melt ice to produce chilled water to reduce monthly peak kW demand.
  • The facility has the ability to house additional chiller equipment as the system expands to serve more customers.
  • Capacity of the plant is:
    • 6,550 tons of electric and glycol chillers
    • Calmac ice storage system containing 98 tanks (1,089 tons)
