This project included the design, engineering, equipment procurement, construction and commissioning (and integration) to modify the source of the majority of the Schuylkill Station Steam Plant water supply from the Philadelphia Water Department (PWD) to the adjacent Schuylkill River. The steam plant provides district energy service to Philadelphia.

  • Vicinity Energy owns and operates the Schuylkill Station plant and the reverse osmosis water treatment plant in Philadelphia, PA.
  • DCO Energy was the EPC Contractor, responsible for the design, engineering, equipment procurement, construction and commissioning services of the project.
  • The facility is capable of producing 2,000 gallons per minute of demineralized water.
  • Water will be provided through ultra filtration, reverse osmosis, and electro deionization process.
  • Reverse osmosis plant will supply filtered, deionized river water for use in steam generation.
