Role

EPC Contractor, Operate & Maintain

AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center (ACRMC) is a 276-bed teaching hospital in Atlantic City, NJ, and the region’s only Level II Trauma Center. The Medical Arts Building (MAB) is a recently constructed building that was developed to enhance access to quality care for the Atlantic City community. The MAB is also the home base for AtlantiCare’s Medical Education Program.

  • ACRMC’s previous energy needs were served by central boiler and chiller plant with electricity provided by local electric utility.
  • ACM Energy, LLC owns, operates, and maintains a district energy system serving the Midtown area of Atlantic City, which has a central plant and combined heat and power (CHP) system.
  • DCO designed and constructed the new steam, condensate, chilled water supply and return lines and electrical distribution lines to ACRMC and MAB, connecting them to the district energy system for heating, cooling, domestic hot water, and process needs, as well as electricity from ACM’s resilient cogeneration plant.
  • While connected to the district energy system, DCO continues to provide labor to supplement operations and maintenance of the hospital boiler and chiller plant.
