Constellation Energy and Procter & Gamble partnered to build a 54MW biomass-fueled cogeneration facility on the P&G Family Care Division manufacturing plant site in Albany, GA.  DCO was retained by Constellation to be the EPC for this project.

BIOMASS – WASTE WOOD-FIRED COGENERATION PLANT 

  • DCO designed and constructed, via EPC wrap and creative $235 million construction financing. 
  • Was owned and operated by Exelon Generation/Constellation and DCO Energy 
  • 54MW (design gross) cogeneration power supplied to Georgia Power as renewable energy. 
  • 425,000 pounds per hour of process steam supplied to Procter & Gamble’s second largest paper manufacturing plant. 
  • Circulating fluidized bed boiler
  • DCO also designed and constructed an additional 8.5 steam turbine, using renewable steam from the biomass plant, to serve electric power to the microgrid for the adjacent U.S. Marine Corps Logistics Base
