Apex, NV
Role
Design, Build, Own, Operate & Maintain
Completion
11 MW Electricity

Republic Services retained CC Energy LLC to design, build, own, operate and maintain an 11 MW Landfill Gas to Energy Facility at the Apex Landfill in Clark County, Nevada. CC Landfill Energy LLC is a wholly owned subsidiary of DCO Energy.

In addition, NV Energy and CC Landfill Energy LLC announced that the two companies have entered into a 20-year power purchase agreement for the sale of energy produced from the facility. DCO sold this project to Republic, and continued to operate and maintain the plant for a number of years subsequently to the sale.

CC Landfill Energy will use landfill gas extracted from a series of wells at the landfill and use that gas in a state-of-the-art turbine-generator to make renewable electricity for NV Energy customers.  Using landfill gas in this manner reduces dependence on other natural resources, and improves air quality and carbon emissions.
