The SECCRA Community Landfill Gas Energy Project is a Greenfield Development project. The project is being developed by the landfill owner utilizing DCO Energy LLC as the project Developer. The project will utilize landfill gas to fuel a reciprocating engine generator set that produces electric power. DCO is providing project development and project management services associated with the design of the electric generation equipment and interconnection to the PJM Grid. The project is scheduled to be placed in service in early 2006.
The project is located at the Southeastern Chester County Refuse Authority's municipal solid waste landfill in West Grove Township, Pennsylvania. The plant is environmentally beneficial due to the reduction of greenhouse gases and decreased dependence on fossil fuels.
The 880 kW plant will produce approximately 7,000,000 Kwh of electric energy per year, which will be sold to the electric wholesale market through the PJM Power Pool.
