DCO Essex Energy, LLC developed the Combined Heating, Chilling and Power Facility that services the Essex County Correctional Facility in Newark, New Jersey. DCO operates and maintains the facility based on a 20-year contract. All the heating, cooling, domestic hot water and base load electricity is provided by the centralized production facility. A sophisticated Control system allows DCO and the Correctional Facility to monitor and control the HVAC systems remotely in order to optimize efficiency and detect even the most minor of fluctuation within the conditioned space areas.

This project represents the best possible application of technology and systems resulting in a public private partnership that is energy efficient and cost effective.
