Salem County Landfill Gas-to Energy Project is a Greenfield Development project. The project utilizes landfill gas to fuel a reciprocating engine generator set that produces electric power. DCO provided business development, project development, project management, and construction management services.  The project was placed in service at the end of 2008. This energy project conforms to the requirements of the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities’ Renewable Energy Advanced Program.

The SCUA project includes turn-key construction of a 1.9 MW power plant with one reciprocating engine / generator set and associated equipment interconnected to the local power grid.  The project also includes a pipeline to convey landfill gas to a local college for direct end us.

The initial 1.6 MW unit is producing approximately 11,000,000 kWh of electric energy. The output from the plant is sold to the electric wholesale market through the PJM Power Pool.  The site is designed for a total installed capacity of 3.8MW.
