Elizabeth River Trail
This first phase of the Elizabeth River Trail is building upon natural resources and generally consists of streetscape, hard-scape and landscape elements. The project is being constructed from South Broad Street to Bridge Street along the southern edge of the Elizabeth River in the City of Elizabeth, NJ. The project area contains historic, architectural properties listed under the NJ Register of Historic Places Act. Under the NJDEP Green Acres program, this project monitored and administered by NJDOT. It is intended to encourage pedestrian recreational and exercise activities like biking, walking, jogging and running along a paved, lighted route, and was completed by April 2012.
