Director of Construction, DCO Energy, LLC
Mr. Jones is responsible for implementation of new projects
and existing facility upgrades. His involvement includes
conceptual design development and cost estimating, engineering
oversight, value engineering input, construction coordination,
and support of plant start up and continuing operations. Responsibilities
also include contract and schedule development, major equipment
procurement, contractor negotiations and project quality
assurance.
Mr. Jones has a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic
Institute and over 25 years experience in the engineering and construction
industries. He has completed graduate level coursework in Structural
Engineering at Rowan University, is registered as a Professional Planner
in NJ, as a PE in NJ, PA, DE, VA and KY, and has held NJ licenses as a
Construction Official and Inspector in the building, electrical, mechanical,
plumbing, fire protection and elevator disciplines.
Selected Career Highlights
As Project Manager for Baumgardner
Construction Co., responsible for construction of the Marina Thermal Facility,
a central heating and cooling plant for the Borgata Casino. Also
served as PM for construction projects involving casino,
correctional facility and airport improvements. Responsible
for development and compliance with project budgets and
schedules, subcontractor coordination and client relations.
As Sr. Construction
Manager for Parsons Brinckerhoff, responsible for implementation of $35M
of renovation projects at the USPS’s 1930’s vintage mail
Processing and Distribution Center in downtown Philadelphia,
PA. Work involved over 20 prime contractors and
12 design firms in renovating all major building systems
in an operating facility with 8,000 USPS employees. Also
managed preparation of feasibility studies, plant upgrade
designs, construction bid package preparation, and new
construction for Postal facilities throughout the eastern
USA.
As Project Manager for a consulting engineering firm,
served as Engineer of record for over chemical treatment
system upgrades at several dozen potable water pumping
stations for New Jersey-American Water Company. Work
included design of facility expansions, treatment system
design, permitting through local planning boards and
the NJ DEP, and construction support. Also responsible
for engineering design packages involving improvements
to manufacturing, petroleum refining, and hazardous waste
processing facilities.
As Project Manager for Stone and Webster Engineering Corporation,
managed groups of up to 35 professionals performing engineering design of
piping systems and mechanical components for several nuclear power generation
plants. Responsibilities also included development of material procurement
specifications and contracts, preparing equipment qualification analyses
and resolution of construction installation problems.
