APEX Landfill Renewable Energy Generation Facility

APEX Landfill, Apex, NV

ROLE: Design, build, own, operate and maintain

CAPACITY: 11 MW

Republic Services has retained CC Energy LLC to design, build, own, operate and maintain a 11 MW Landfill Gas to Energy Facility. The facility will be located at Apex Landfill, Clark County, Nevada. Apex Landfill the largest landfill in Nevada.

CC Landfill Energy LLC is a wholly owned subsidiary of Energenic, a partnership between long-term business partners Marina Energy and DCO Energy.

In addition, NV Energy and CC Landfill Energy LLC announced that the two companies have entered into a 20-year power purchase agreement for the sale of energy produced from the facility.

CC Landfill Energy will use landfill gas extracted from a series of wells at the landfill and use that gas in a state-of-the-art turbine-generator to make renewable electricity for NV Energy customers. Using landfill gas in this manner reduces dependence on other natural resources, and improves air quality and carbon emissions.
